The Metro Chamber Announces Move to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts
Dear Metro Chamber members:
It is with great pleasure to share with you the news that the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce has selected The Smith Center for the Performing Arts as our new home. 2013 Chairman Jay Barrett made the official announcement today at the Annual Installation Luncheon. There are still a few details to work out, but we are moving forward on a final agreement and want you to be among the first to know.
The Metro Chamber will be located in the ground floor space of the Boman Pavilion, home of Cabaret Jazz theatre. Its main entrance will open onto Promenade Place, north of Discovery Children’s Museum, and there will be additional office space on the fifth floor of the building. The move will take place sometime in 2014, once office renovations are completed.
Based on the feedback you gave us last summer, finding a central location, easily accessible by members from all parts of the valley was a primary consideration in the search for new facilities, as well as a setting that would complement the Metro Chamber’s role of community convener and partner.
This partnership between the Metro Chamber and the iconic Smith Center will create an enhanced community asset in the midst of civic life. At the new Smith Center location, the Metro Chamber will be surrounded by vibrant central business districts and will be in close proximity to centers of government, including Clark County, City of Las Vegas and City of North Las Vegas.
The Smith Center is at the center of community and culture, and the Metro Chamber is focused on jobs and growing the economy. Integrating these two institutions will produce a creative place where ideas, innovation and synergies will emerge and thrive. We look forward to blending the power of the arts and commerce and hosting important conversations for our community on making Southern Nevada a better place to live.
I look forward to updating you on the plans for this new dynamic facility and the benefits I believe it will bring to you and our entire community.
