Join The Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate the partnership and community impact of Nellis Air Force Base on Southern Nevada at the first Business Power Luncheon of 2013 on Tuesday, March 19.
Maj. Gen Jeffrey Lofgren, commander of the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center will be the keynote speaker. He will address the mission, future and financial state of Nellis and its impact on Southern Nevada.
Straight from the National Geographic Documentary, Inside Combat Rescue, The 58th Rescue Squadron from Nellis Air Force Base will demonstrate the tools of their trade, including tactical search equipment and multi-terrain vehicles.
Responsible for training ground combat teams from throughout the military, the 99th Ground Combat Training Squadron will be on hand with up-armored HumVees, an array of weaponry and subject matter experts who can speak to the day-to-day mission of a ground combat qualified airman.
The men and women of the 799th Security Forces Squadron, responsible for defending Nellis Air Force base and military installations throughout Nevada will demonstrate their K-9 companions ability to detect minute traces of explosives.
The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, will be present to answer questions and provide informational material.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialists assigned to Nellis will be present with equipment to demonstrate their mission and answer questions about their profession.
