Clark County Schools head raises concern about charter school racial balance

Clark County charter schools, where enrollment is 66 percent white, are on the path to resegregation, public school superintendent Pat Skorkowsky told business leaders Tuesday.

The superintendent of the nation’s fifth largest school district made the statement during NewsFeed, the breakfast series aimed at igniting conversations about important community issues sponsored by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce.

Advocacy.

At every level of government, the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce advocates to protect the business climate of Southern Nevada. Engage the Government Affairs team at the Chamber by participating in policy committee meetings, responding to Advocacy in Action updates throughout the legislative session and contributing to BizPAC.

Partnership.

The Chamber partners with myriad organizations and entities to make Las Vegas a vibrant place to live and work. By seeking and actively engaging community-wide partnerships, we can make Las Vegas a globally competitive and diversified metropolitan area.

Resources.

The Chamber provides its members with a variety of resources, including cost-saving programs to help their bottom line, print and web-based publicity tools and a Full Event Calendar to build new business relationships and cultivate existing ones.
