A social networking and micro-blogging service that enables you to send and read messages known as "Tweets." Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the user's Twitter page and delivered to the user's followers. Twitter's communication is instantaneous and is able to be broadcasted to large amount of people. Twitterers sometimes use Hashtags (#) to mark the subject of their tweets, making it easy for people to search conversations (e.g. #Vegas) they would like to get involved in and find people or businesses they might want to follow.

Best used to connect with people you already know. You can add and communicate with friends through messages and status updates to notify friends on what your current activities or your opinion on a particular subject. Facebook allows you to build your community by joining networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region. LinkedIn

An online site to network with fellow professionals. The focus of LinkedIn is building your business contacts, posting testimonials, finding people in your field, hiring or finding a job. It is very helpful if people you know switch jobs and their email is no longer active- you'll always be able to contact them since their LinkedIn account won't change.

YouTube

A video sharing website on which you can upload and share videos. You can comment, rate, bookmark and embed videos into your own websites. You can sign up for YouTube at www.youtube.com.
