Announcing the Customer Service Excellence "NEW" Five Star and Customer Service Excellence Person of the Year Awards

The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the Customer Service Excellence Five Star Award and Person of the Year Award. These awards will recognize individuals that provide exemplary customer service to the residents and visitors of Southern Nevada.

Our first 2009-2010 winner of the Customer Service Excellence Five Star Award is Todd Kozawa an employee of Home Depot.

Here is Todd's nomination as submitted:

Five Star Todd Kozawa

"It is so rare to receive such amazing customer service these days...where someone will go the extra mile for you. For this reason, Todd Kozawa is completely deserving of this nomination. Not only did he assist me in finding the right item I needed, but he spent the time to explain how to fix the item I had brought into the store. And then, as if that weren't enough, he found the necessary tools and he fixed it himself! He did this with a smile and with a warm and professional demeanor. I was so impressed with him and so amazed that one person would go so above and beyond their typical duties. After I left the store, I had to lift this piece of equipment into my car, and there was Todd, once again, asking if I needed help. He placed the item in my car for me, still with a smile on his face and a gracious attitude. He is truly one employee that Home Depot should recognize and never let go! He really made my day and I wish him all the success in life that he so deserves. With his personality, kindness, ability and professionalism, he should find that success in everything he pursues."

Customer Service Annual Luncheon

An annual Customer Service Luncheon is held in celebration of National Customer Service Week (NCSW). NCSW is held the first full week of October. The goal of the luncheon is to treat/reward  the recipients of CSE awards. Employers traditionally purchase seats (at their discretion) for their employee recipients. Special bronze, silver and gold certificates, honoring the Levels of Achievement, are awarded at the luncheon.

It’s Designed To Be Easy!

Participation in the Customer Service Excellence (CSE) program requires very little additional work. Any one can nominate! Are you an employer? Customer? Co-worker?  Simply submit the names of the individual who has provided you with outstanding customer service. Submissions can come in many forms.

Methods of submission:

  1. Fill out the online nomination form.
  2. Fax or e-mail comendation letters or e-mails notes of phone compliments, internal  and/or external customer recognitions that your employees have received to scollins@lvchamber.com or 702.735.0406.
  3. Display Customer Service Excellence comment cards in your lobby or reception areas (cards are available at the Chamber at no cost to your business). Customers fill out the card and drop them in the mail, postage is paid for them.

And we take it from there…

Recognition Ceremony

A Customer Service Excellence certificate is awarded upon an employee’s first recognition within a program year (the fiscal year began on September 1, 2009 and will end August 31, 2010). The employee is invited to a recognition ceremony (held Dec., Mar., June, July and Sept.) where a pin is also awarded and a picture taken.

Levels of Achievement

During a program year all nominations are tracked and each nominee is invited to attend our annual luncheon. As the nominations are added throughout the year, the following levels of achievement can be reached:

3-5 compliments Receive Bronze certificate
6-10 compliments Receive Silver certificate
11 + compliments Receive Gold certificate

Host Locations

Large companies find it advantageous to have the ceremony "in-house." These are referred to as Host Locations and may occur monthly, quarterly, etc. We then adapt our program to fit into their venue and the process reflects the company's preference.

Volunteers

As referenced above, dedicated volunteers adopt Host Locations and commit to attend and personally congratulate recipients.
