RSS files are summaries of online content stripped of any design/styling and packaged to be interpreted by computers instead of people.
RSS files can be subscribed to and aggregated together for display using tools commonly referred to as a news readers, or feed aggreators. They can be an installed software tool, similar to an email client such as Microsoft Outlook, or an online tool such as My Yahoo or Google Reader. Subscribing to RSS feeds allows you to view the content of many websites in one place.
