Punam Mathur has been Vice President of Human Resources for NV Energy since April 29, 2009. She had been Senior Vice President of Corporate Diversity and Community Affairs and a Corporate Officer for MGM Resorts International. She had been responsible for the oversight and implementation of the Company’s diversity efforts as well as for community outreach, corporate philanthropy, and the Company’s VOICE Foundation, an employee-funded charity outreach program.

Since joining the MGM Resorts International in 1996, Mathur helped create an employee culture of awareness, acceptance and respect which continues to garner national acclaim. Accolades include the titles of “Diversity Ambassador” from the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce, “Top Corporations in the U.S.” by DiversityBusiness.com, “50 Best Companies for Minorities” and “America’s Most Admired Companies” by Fortune Magazine and “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” by Diversity Inc. magazine. Under her tenure, MGM Resorts International also was selected as one of 15 companies in the United States to receive the 2006 Employer Support Freedom Award by the Secretary of Defense. In 2006, Mathur also was inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame by the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada.

Active in the community, Mathur serves as Chairperson for Three Square, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating hunger in Southern Nevada. Additionally, she serves as Co-Chair for Nevada Partnership for Inclusive Education and the American Gaming Association’s Diversity Task Force. She also is a member of the President’s Advisory Task Force on Diversity for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Superintendent’s Education Network for the Clark County School District. She also serves as an advisor for Nevada State College.

She is the proud mother of two amazing sons, aged 18 and 9, and a spectacular 7-year old daughter.
