Job Statement

Seeking an experienced, relationship based Account Executive to manage an assigned portfolio of new and existing member companies to strengthen relationships, increase engagement, and retention. This position is the first point of contact for members, responding to member needs and requests. The successful candidate will have 3+ years of account management or customer service experience in a business to business environment. This position reports to the Manager of Member Relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a portfolio of new and existing members for renewal; identifies opportunities for sponsorships and event venues.
  • Partners with the Business Development team to create a smooth transition into the Chamber for new members.
  • Interacts daily with members in person and via phone and email to orient new members to the Chamber and to help existing members understand how to take advantage of their membership benefits.
  • Visits members in their place of business to assess how to involve the company in the Chamber's programs and builds a plan of engagement with the member.
  • Actively supports and participates in Chamber programs and events and pro-actively introduces members to members and staff to encourage relationship building.
  • Updates member information in CRM as needed.
  • Provides feedback from members on programs and benefits, recommends changes or enhancements as needed.
  • Actively supports and participates in Chamber programs and events.

Characteristics and Skills:

  • Previous business to business sales/customer service experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations, tailored to key audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with variable hours.
  • Comfortable working with individuals at all levels in a business organization (line employee to CEO).
  • Flexible and open to change and new information; adapts behavior and work methods accordingly.
  • Holds self accountable to meet established sales targets.  Can be relied upon to ensure that projects and reports are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to problem solve/troubleshoot.
  • Capable of maintaining sensitive/confidential information.
  • Intermediate level capabilities in MS Office and database programs.
  • Must have/maintain a dependable vehicle.
  • Must provide proof of insurance and valid driver's license upon request.
  • Four-year degree or equivalent job experience.
