Job Opportunity: Appointment Specialist

Job Statement

Contact and acquire qualified appointments for the account executives to sell memberships, by using leads provided by the Chamber and leads through own initiative. Is customer service oriented and minded. Actively supports and participates in Chamber programs and events. Teamwork and communication are prerequisites at all times.

Essential Functions/Objectives:

  • Makes telephone calls to establish contact with prospective area businesses, provides brief information on Chamber membership, resources and benefits
  • Meets established performance standards in scheduling appointments and sales vs appointments set ratio
  • Establishes appointment scheduling for membership account executives and notes appropriate information on the scheduling board and the appointment card
  • Makes follow-up calls as required to establish contact and sell the value of Chamber membership
  • Maintains own follow-up file
  • Researches various publications for additional leads
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:

  • Previous experience in telemarketing and/or appointment setting
  • Customer service skills
  • Self-motivated

  • Overall knowledge of office procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and presentation of self with an outgoing personality
